Oxygen Takes Hit Series "Bad Girls Club" To Miami For Fifth Season

NEW YORK - January 21, 2010 - Just half way through a phenomenal fourth season, Oxygen made network history Tuesday night with this week's "Bad Girls Club" episode becoming the first-ever Oxygen telecast to draw over two million total viewers, and delivering Oxygen's most watched telecast ever among all key demos, according to Nielsen Media Research. On the heels of the record-breaking numbers, "Bad Girls Club" also has been renewed for a fifth season AND, for the first time ever, the Bad Girls leave LA for the hot beaches of Miami.

The green light of season five comes as this week's episode of "Bad Girls Club" season four became the sixth telecast in Oxygen history to draw more than one million, A18-49 and the first to draw over one million, W18-49. The telecast recorded 1,380,000, A18-49; 978,000, A18-34; 755,000, W18-34; 1,048,000, W18-49 and 2,095,000 total viewers. Compared to the prior episode (1/12/10), Tuesday's episode was up +22% among A18-49 (1,380,000 vs. 1,130,000), +27% among W18-49 (1,048,000 vs. 823,000), +25% among W18-34 (755,000 vs. 606,000) and +21% among total viewers (2,095,000 vs. 1,734,000).

"Bad Girls Club on Tuesdays has become a destination for W18-34 and W18-49 on-air, online, on Facebook, on Twitter and pretty much everywhere else," said Jason Klarman, General Manager, Oxygen Media.

From Bunim-Murray, the groundbreaking producers of "The Real World," "Bad Girls Club" is currently casting for the new season and looking for some local flavor, holding a casting call in Miami, Saturday, January 23 at Gordon Biersch from 11am-5pm.

"Our audience has made 'Bad Girls Club' our biggest hit ever on air and on line - and it keeps getting bigger, week to week, season to season," said Amy Introcaso-Davis, Senior Vice President, Original Programming and Development for Oxygen Media. During the current season of "Bad Girls Club," five of the telecasts have delivered over one million A18-49 viewers while this week's episode drew over two million total viewers -- no other Oxygen series ever accomplished this feat. Season to date, (12/01/09-1/19/10), premiere telecasts of "Bad Girls Club" Season 4 average 1,047,000 A18-49, 76,000 W18-49, 576,000 W18-34 and 1,541,000 total viewers 2+. Compared to the average of the first seven episodes of "Bad Girls Club" Season 3, Season 4 is up + 63 % for A18-49 (1,047,000 vs. 643,000), + 61 % for W18-49 (767,000 vs. 475,000), + 54 % for W18-34 (576,000 vs. 373,000), and + 67 % for total viewers (1,541,000 vs. 921,000).

Driving unprecedented numbers for Oxygen's digital assets, the "Bad Girls Club" show site has seen double digit growth in page views (+84%) and in uniques (+82%) with triple digit growth in streams (+107%) through week seven. Its mobile site also grew by triple digits with page views up 421% and unique visitors up 773% through week seven. In addition, "Bad Girls Club" took over five of the top ten trending topics on Twitter Tuesday night between 10-11pm and now has over 135,000 Facebook fans.

"Bad Girls Club" helped kick off the network's newest bi-coastal social networking event, OxygenLive. Unique visitors (16,000) to OxygenLive on Tuesdays have increased 271% since the premiere week (12/1/09), the highest since its launch. Through www.OxygenLive.com, fans no longer have to wait until the next morning to chat around the water cooler about the latest show gossip. Instead, OxygenLive is the first two-screen experience in which fans can socialize, interact and react with every episode in real time. Fans can chat live, post to Facebook and Twitter as well as read other fan posts and tweets (#badgirlsclub) all in one place while the show airs. Viewers are able to participate in a live chat hosted by Oxygen editors, guest bloggers and the Bad Girls themselves.
